This will be my 26th year of teaching students of all ages. I have been at Robert Middle School for the last 5 years. I attended The University of Akron, The University of Houston, and graduated from Kent State University with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. After completing my Bachelor's Degree, I returned to Kent State to complete my Master's of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction in the Middle Grades. I began my teaching career at Christ the King School (3rd and 4th grade), continued at Sill Middle (7th and 8th grade), Preston Elementary (5th grade), and am currently here at Roberts teaching 6th and 7th grade ILA. I am very excited about working with your child this year!
I believe in hands-on learning experiences, learning creatively, and learning through play. I hope to help your child discover his or her individual learning style and work along side him or her to maximize it. I want my students to feel challenged and to have an enhanced passion for learning.
Collaboration, cooperation, and open communication between home and school are keys to building a strong foundation for a successful school year. I lieu of sending home newsletters, I will post updates, homework, due dates, class successes etc. on this website. Please check this site often as well as your student's planner to help keep details about the class. I look forward to an exciting school year!
