District to Use Two-Hour Delays Due to Weather

The state’s reduction in calamity days will force Cuyahoga Falls City Schools to consider other alternatives to automatically closing school on snowy mornings. It is recognized that there will be days that road and weather conditions will prohibit our students from getting to school safely. However, in order to avoid using a full-day closing, the district will consider using a two-hour delayed start of school if road and weather conditions appear to clear or be suitable later in the morning. This process will assist the district in maintaining our three calamity days for days that necessitate closing school. Please note that any calamity days or closings beyond the three permitted days will result in extending the school year.

On Delayed Start mornings there will be no Six-District Compact bussing or program, no AM kindergarten classes, and PM kindergarten bussing and classes will resume as normal.

Please see the Parents Letter about the Delayed Start days on the Superintendent's page.
